A van stamps a building next to the SPS
A van that went out of control collided with a building in front of the Sherbrooke police station.
The spectacular event occurred at the corner of Short and Galt West Streets around 8:45 am. Fortunately, the accident did not hurt.
However, a mechanical break could be at the origin of the defeat of the vehicle, explains Isabelle Gendron, spokesperson of the Sherbrooke Police Service.
The van pulling a trailer was rolling on Princess Street when mechanical problems began. The driver managed to take Short Street, but the vehicle became uncontrollable and was hitting the three-story building on the ground floor.
The police then assessed the condition of the driver, suspecting that he could be under the influence of alcohol, she adds.
On-site firefighters undertook to assess the soundness of the building that was shaken by the collision.
