The police of Toronto reported that a white van was hit by eight to ten pedestrians on the street Yonge Street in the area of Finch Avenue.
The incident occurred at about 13:30 o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, April 23. According to police, a white van stopped at the edge of the pavement South of Finch and ran over the pedestrians walking on Yonge.
There is no information on how serious injuries to the victims. Reportedly, the pedestrian was hit near civic center, North York Civic Centre.
Police reported the van was detained, and his driver is in custody. However, members of the public are advised to stay away from the scene of the tragedy.
Transport service TTC temporarily stopped the movement of subway trains on line 1 from the station and Sheppard to Finch, in connection with the investigation of the incident.
