The office of the Prosecutor of the International criminal court released the report of a previous investigation of 2018, in which repeated assessment of events in the Crimea after the Russian aggression. About it reports “Radio Freedom”.
“In 2016, the office of the Prosecutor published an assessment of the situation on the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, which it classified as an international armed conflict between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, which arose no later than 26 February 2014. According to the assessment of the office of the Prosecutor, situation in Crimea remains applied the law of international armed conflict and after March 18, 2014, because in the Crimea and Sevastopol actually saves the state of the occupation,” the report says.
In the office of believe that although this assessment is preliminary, it provides the legal basis for the current analysis of information on crimes allegedly committed in the context of the occupation of Crimea on 20 February 2014.
This report, dated December 5, in particular, drew the attention of the Prosecutor of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. According to the Ministry, the Prosecutor’s office of the ARC together with a number of human rights NGOs has sent to the international criminal court four reported violations in the occupied Peninsula.
