Financial services company American Express Canada, specializing in credit and payment cards, announced that they have signed a new agreement with Aimia Inc., but Air Canada extended the terms of its participation as a partner in the bonus program, Aeroplan, allowing frequent flyers to earn miles when making purchases with cards of certain banks.
As it became known, the American Express contract was extended to 29 June 2020, and will expire at the same time the agreement for participation in the Air Canada Aeroplan program.
The Montreal company Aimia, in charge of various loyalty programs, including Aeroplan, announced in March 2018, about the beginning of cooperation with the giant e-Commerce Amazon, giving you the opportunity to earn points through purchases. However, in the same month she lost a filling station Imperial Oil’s Esso as a partner.
Stock prices fall with Aimia last year, when the airline Air Canada has announced that it will soon be offering a loyalty program and launch your own loyalty program for customers.
