The subway-work-dodo concept has never been part of Angel Forrest’s life. And it’s certainly not at 52 that things will change. The singer multiplies musical projects and is even preparing to become a “homeless”!
“We sell everything and we move on our bus, probably by October 1st. We completely emptied the bus that served us as a lodge, and we start to build it like a house. We’re going to be ” off the grid ” with the compostable toilet, the solar panels and everything! We try to be as ecological as possible, “launches the blueswoman.
A nomad in his blood, Angel Forrest has always been a fool. In recent years, she has lived in Lac-Brome and Cowansville, before settling in Granby. But now, artist’s life and stability rarely come together. Between two shows, a trip abroad and a stay in the studio, Angel and his boyfriend Denis Coulombe had less and less desire to manage the household obligations of a pied-à-terre.
“We are a little tired of being always on the road and not being able to spend time with us. The children are tall, the cat is dead … there is no reason to come home to water the plants when we are at the end of the world, “she notes.
Their home for the next few years, so it will be “Maggie”, a large 40-foot Prévost coach that has already served tour bus to musician Michel Lamothe. A convenient way for them to travel America freely. And also a snub to daily pressures and social. “We do not care about all that and we just happy in life. And then, we will see our friends more often, by settling at home without disturbing! ”
The inseparable couple – and his dog Freida Love! – also intends to document its adventures on YouTube.
In this quest for a simple and materially lighter life, Angel had to put a little aside his sentimental nature. “I have business dating from the time of my first apartment … I like old objects that have a life. But since I’m doing Kundalini yoga, I feel good and I’m getting away from material things. So, I’m OK ! “Says one who will still retain some of his most valuable possessions.
This new chapter in Angel Forrest’s life will coincide with the launch of his 11th album, Hell Bent With Grace , next November. Recorded in Montreal, it includes 11 original compositions blues rock, country and 70s sounds.
The singer-songwriter talks about menopause, growing up children and her dead mother, among others. “It’s a very personal album, but it’s not a sad album! It rocks, she takes care to clarify. It’s my best so far! ”
It is also aboard “Maggie” she will present in Nashville in February 2020. For three months, she and his Denis will settle there to save the winter, but especially to test the market freely and make interesting meetings, without having to hurry.
This trip will be followed by a tour of shows in Western Canada and the West Coast.
But before the long stop Nashvill, she will fly to India to present a series of benefits blues and enjoy tourism in this country she discovered with happiness last year.
When we told you that the lady was on the move … “I also made a duet with Myles Goodwyn from April Wine on her album coming out in September,” she adds.
