Attempted murder in Pointe-aux-Trembles: two suspects appeared Saturday

Two suspects appeared Saturday afternoon in the Court of Quebec, by videoconference, in connection with the attempted murder Friday night in Pointe-aux-Trembles.

Emmanuel Charbonneau, 30, and Jonathan Tshinkenke, 19, were charged with attempting to cause the death of a 49-year-old man by using a firearm. The victim, injured in the lower body, survived, and we do not fear for his life.

The two men were also charged with conspiring to commit an indictable offense and unloading a firearm with intent to injure, mutilate, disfigure a person. They were also charged separately for possessing a weapon, a 45-cc colt, when it was forbidden for them.

The attempted murder occurred around 19 h 35 Friday night near the intersection of 8 th Avenue and Notre-Dame in Montreal East. The two suspects were arrested later in the evening.
