Unofficially, the case was known for a time. However, today it is confirmed with the Hollywood Reporter.

Black Panther was the first film of Marvel superheroes to be kept as to the poster (25 weeks). And this is a logical follow-up to its popularity of dante in the United States. The feature-length film from Ryan Coogler was reported by less than 242.1 million dollars for its first weekend in theaters and ended its operation with 700 million dollars in pocket on the territory of the domestic and 1.34 billion dollars at the global box office.

So, if with all that Disney and Marvel had not planned to do a sequel, it’s that they took to us really to the nozzles. All the more that they had already expressed a wish to see the director of Creed at the head of this second Black Panther.

Today, the Hollywood Reporter comes to confirm and formalize what everyone imagined : Ryan Coogler will be the director and writer of Black Panther 2. According to the information relayed by the u.s. site, the filmmaker should finish the script next year and begin production in late 2019 or early 2020. For the moment no release date has been announced for the film.

In the meantime, Marvel Studios will probably focus on the coming of his super-heroine Captain Marvel the march 6, 2019 as well as the long-awaited sequel of’Avengers : Infinity War planned for the 24 April 2019. After that, there will be Spider-Man : Far From Home which will be released on July 10, 2019 and will feature Jake Gyllenhaal in the skin of Mysterio in the face of Tom Holland.

Marvel now needs to determine how Black Panther 2 will migrate into this new phase of the MCU.
