The Moscow city court on Tuesday upheld the extension of detention of four of the 24 Ukrainian prisoners of war sailors.
This was announced by the Ukrainians lawyer Nikolai Polozov on his Facebook page.
Prisoners of war were taken to court, but at the request of the investigator and the Prosecutor held a meeting behind closed doors.
During the session the defense applied for the admission of copies of the PACE resolution, which contains the demand to the Russian authorities for the immediate release of the captured sailors and treatment in accordance with the rules of the Geneva conventions. To meet this request was denied.
The court upheld the extension of a measure of restraint in form of detention in respect of the Novel Mokryak, Eugene Semitecolo, Andrew Oprysko, and Sergei Tsibizova.
