The Kyiv city administration issued for public discussion the project of renaming oleksandrivska clinical hospital of the Central clinical hospital. The author of the project was the head of the relevant Department of the administration Valentina Ginzburg.
In her opinion, the adoption of this decision will contribute to the democratization of the Ukrainian society, as well as allow to avoid the perturbation of a territorial community of Kiev. In favor of his proposal, the author notes that the Russian Tsar Alexander III, in whose honor was named the health facility, had no relation to its construction, since the hospital was built mainly on the donations of the local community.
Currently the project is under consideration of two committees of the Kiev Council, and the vote in the Metropolitan Parliament could take place at the next session.
Note that the historical name was returned to the clinic in 2007. Prior to this, the hospital was called October.
The last large-scale renaming took place in Kyiv in mid-November. Then, from the Soviet names got rid of 4 of the street, lane, square and squares.
