On Friday, December 14, at the airport in Tijuana (Mexico) occurred incident hit the news worldwide. Boeing 737-800 with landing, collided with an unknown object. The pilots felt a strong blow and immediately reported it to the Manager.
The liner managed to land without any problems. Anybody from passengers has not suffered. But the plane itself was severely damaged. The nose of the liner is breached, as it has deep dents.
Experts believe that even a collision with a large bird could not lead to such results. The basic version of incident — Boeing collided with a drone.
Bloomberg recalls that in most countries the use of drones near airports is strictly prohibited. However, the authorities are in control of how respected this rule. Drones today are sold in many electronics stores and are relatively inexpensive. Their acquisition does not require any additional permissions. People who buy drones, or you don’t know about bans, or simply do not comply.
To track drones using radar is not yet possible. In this regard, many airlines are calling on the authorities to urgently introduce more stringent rules for the use of drones. Only in the US in June 2018, the pilots of passenger aircraft more than 6,000 times reported about the drones seen them near airports during takeoff or landing. We are talking about eye contact, and it means that drones were dangerously close.
In February of 2018 in Charleston (South Carolina) helicopter crashed, the pilot tried to avoid collision with the drone.
American experts believe that drones represent a greater danger than the bird of the same size, as these devices contain metal parts and can cause considerable damage to a passenger aircraft.
