A homeowner in London, Ontario, went on Tuesday, may 15, to check they’d picked up from the garbage and found something much more serious – next to the debris lay an artillery shell during the First world war.
Police officers were called to a house in the southern part of the city around 11:00 o’clock in the morning.
According to the owner of the house, he just came to check how things are going with the rubbish, and found next to a bag of waste a shell more than 60 cm in length.
He believes that someone planted it early in the morning.
On the scene sent the local crew at the disposal of explosive devices, and bomb technicians found out that the shell in working condition. It contained up to 13.6 kg of explosives.
Police officers have taken an artillery shell from the residential area and sent it to the base of the Canadian forces Borden to destroyed it.
Everyone who will find something similar to explosives or ammunition, please do not approach them and immediately call the police.
