In Sri Lanka executioners gaining by the announcement after President Maithripala Sirisena YAP international announced the end of the moratorium on the death penalty, according to CNN.
According to an announcement in the newspaper published by the Commissioner General of prisons Sri Lanka, executioners can become men at the age from 18 to 45 years, with a “superior moral character”, “good intelligence, and spiritual strength”.
It is noted that no one had been executed in Sri Lanka since 1976 in the South Asian country had imposed a moratorium on the death penalty. Although murder, rape, and trafficking and distribution of drugs continues to be punishable by the death penalty, the sentences were usually replaced by life imprisonment.
Now the death penalty will be restored within two months for persons convicted of drug offences.
