Justin Trudeau will appear in an episode of The Simpsons

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will make an “appearance” on Sunday in the next episode of The Simpsons devoted to Canada.

Toronto radio host Lucas Meyer wrote on Twitter that the Simpsons craftsmen had asked him to lend his voice to imitate Mr. Trudeau in this episode entitled D’Oh Canada. Mr. Meyer explains that he had already made a video of imitations for his family and friends, which was later published on YouTube.

When the Prime Minister’s Office was asked if the producers had asked Mr. Trudeau to lend his voice to the cartoon himself, his spokesperson, Chantal Gagnon, said in an email that he had ” respectfully declined their offer.

In the episode, which airs in English on CityTV, Lisa mistakenly gets political asylum in Canada on a family trip to Niagara Falls.

Tim Long, a consulting producer on the Simpsons team – who is from Canada – told Canadian Press that in this episode, Mr. Trudeau’s character speaks briefly with Lisa.

“There may be an ongoing scandal” in which Prime Minister Trudeau is involved, says Long – suggesting that the episode could evoke the SNC-Lavalin affair. “Probably no one in the United States will understand what it is,” said Long, who was born in Brandon, Manitoba, and grew up in Exeter, Ontario.

“It’s funny, though, because, of course, the US got used to the idea that” Trudeau is great! ” – at least, the Americans of the “liberal” fringe, who find it “extra: Canadians have to adore it”, and I think they are now surprised to learn that it is experiencing little trouble at the moment. ”
