Наблюдателей ОБСЕ предложили разместить в Азовском море: в России ожидаемо ответили

At the meeting, representatives of countries of the Normandy Quartet in Berlin, which will be held on December 11, is scheduled to debate the extension of the mandate of the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on the sea of Azov. This option is monitoring the situation after the capture by the Russians of Ukrainian boats and tugs, offers Germany.

The introduction of OSCE observers on the sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of foreign Affairs on Thursday, December 6, raised the head of the foreign Ministry of Denmark Anders Samuelsen.

He noted that Russian aggression in the Kerch Strait again demonstrates the seriousness of the conflict.

“It is necessary to consider the possibility of imposing international monitoring of the situation in the Kerch Strait and sea of Azov”, — said Samuelsen.

In addition, he stated that Denmark strongly supports the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.

The German foreign Minister Haiko Maas confirmed that the proposal for the observation mission should discuss next week during a meeting of representatives of Ukraine and Russia brokered by France and Germany.

“It will be difficult, because the position of the parties is still hard. I think, for the Ukrainian side it will be good, but the Russian side skeptical,”said Maas.

The reaction of the Russians were predictable. According to the head of Russian foreign Ministry Sergei Lavrov, Russia does not consider it necessary to hold an OSCE mission monitoring the situation in the Azov sea and Kerch Strait.

“The OSCE has a specific mandate, the mandate covers the entire land territory of Ukraine. No observations, no intermediaries or in the sea of Azov or in the Kerch Strait is not required”, — said Lavrov.

The chief diplomat of the Russian Federation tried again to accuse the Ukrainian side, voicing the position of the Russian authorities that our vehicles do not comply with safety standards.

According to him, the Ukrainian military vehicles during the passage of the Kerch Strait in September of this year complied with all the requirements of international law (although the Russians and then provocations “Korets” and “Donbass”), however, not carried out by them on November 25.
