A warm reception awaited 101 employee the NYPD and the FDNY this Wednesday in new York. They were welcomed as real heroes, who honestly fulfilled their professional duty. These people were among those who recently went to North Carolina and was opposed there raged a hurricane “Florence”. Thanks to this special group of rescuers, hundreds of people were evacuated from remote regions.

In the United States 28 units are formed of the most professional police and fire service. These groups are designed to respond to emergency situations and to strengthen the position of FEMA in the regions torn by natural disasters. Their work depend the lives of many people.
Rescuers from new York, went to North Carolina in two echelons. First went a large group of 83 people. After 2 day they arrived, the remaining 18 members of the squad. With them they had special equipment and all the necessary tools.

Some days the team rescued 127 people and 61 animal, evacuating them from the flooded areas. Some victims were literally on the brink. For example, a young person had 6 hours to sit in a tree waiting for help. In another case, people were removed from flooded cars and houses.
The return of the heroes has become a day of great joy for their colleagues and relatives. The squad was warmly welcomed by the people of new York, who came to thank the rescuers.
