The state emergency service has warned tourists about the dangers of avalanches in the Ukrainian Carpathians. And if the 8 Dec in the highlands of Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian regions snow avalanche danger is estimated as low (level I), then, on December 9-10 in the highlands of Ivano-Frankivsk region єta danger will increase to level II. “According to Ukrgidromettsentra, December 8, in the highlands of Ivano-Frankivsk region and on 8-9 December in the highlands of the Eastern part of the Transcarpathian region remains low snow avalanche danger (level 1). On December 9-10 in the highlands of Ivano-Frankivsk region is expected to be moderate snow avalanche danger (level 2)”, — stated in the message.
At the same time SES has warned of unstable ice cover on rivers and lakes, which is especially dangerous for all visitors to the ponds.
“To prevent accidents, the rescuers began to conduct preventive raids on the frozen rivers and lakes”, — stated in the message of the SSES.
