In Hungary, finally changed the rhetoric in relations with Ukraine — the Minister of foreign Affairs Peter Siyyarto for the first time in a long time, said “significant progress”, informs the UE with reference to the press service of the government of Hungary.
It is noted that the fracture occurred after the meeting of the Minister with his Ukrainian counterpart Pavlo Klimkin on the sidelines of the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Milan (on 6 December).
“There is a certain favorable progress in the area of legislation that affects the Hungarian community in Ukraine, and there is a certain progress in the overall bilateral relations between Budapest and Kiev”, — said Siyyarto.
He explained that refers to the intention of the government of Ukraine to re-submit to Parliament a draft law on extension of the transition period before the entry into force of the new Law on education until 2023.
In addition, Budapest has welcomed the mutual resolution of the parties at the opening of honorary consulates in siófok and Ternopil.
Note that on 6 December, the Verkhovna Rada refused to include in the agenda of the session, the bill to extend the entry into force of the rules of the “language” of articles of the law on education.
Still Hungary blocked the meeting of the Commission Ukraine-NATO.
In turn, the Ukrainian foreign Ministry said that the meeting with Klimkin Szijjártó also obsudili ordering Hungarian assistance in the development of Transcarpathia. Agreed that the distribution of aid will coordinate the newly-appointed Ambassador for special assignments of the foreign Ministry of Ukraine Mykola Baltazhi and Authorized the Minister of development cooperation between Szabolcs-szatmár-Bereg and Transcarpathia oblast Istvan Gresa.
We will remind, following the results of meeting Szijjártó, the foreign Minister of Ukraine said that it had received assurances from the Hungarian side that Budapest will not resume the issuance of their passports in Ukraine.
