The discontinuation of the cheapest cars in the world

Прекращен выпуск самой дешевой машины в мире

The reason for the failure of the Nano in the market is the desire of the manufacturer to cheaper.

Indian company Tata Motors has stopped production of the compact car Nano, which was earlier considered as the cheapest car in the world. According to Bloomberg, last month, came off the Assembly line only one car, against 275 in the same period of 2017. For export did not leave any one of the hatchback, while last year there were 25.

The reason for the failure of the Nano in the market is the desire of manufacturers to reduce the cost, and the tendency of cars to spontaneous combustion: after it was revealed a few such cases, but the company blamed it on “unauthorized connection of additional equipment to the standard transaction”.

Itself the Indian market is growing: in June, sales of passenger vehicles increased by 38 percent, commercial vehicles — 42 per cent, and two-wheeled — 22 percent.

Tata Nano was equipped with a 624 CC engine producing 38 horsepower and 51 Nm of torque. Gearbox — four-speed “mechanics”. A modernized version of minicar — GenX — received a robotic gearbox with sports mode.
