We never saw the face of the astronaut buzz Aldrin (Buzz Aldrin) was detected in the iconic photographs taken on the moon during the mission “Apollo 11”.
That’s one small step for man, one giant editor for mankind. Amateur photographer handled the photo and was able to “pull” the smiling face of Aldrin in the picture. Andy Saunders has used the technology to improve the photos used by astronomers. It took him a few hours of work to “clean up” photos to see the face of the astronaut under the glass of the helmet.
“Interestingly, this is one of the most iconic images of all time, and it is that detail that I failed to disclose,” says Saunders.
