The house of representatives of the United States Congress unanimously adopted a resolution in which the Holodomor of 1932-1933 is recognized as genocide of the Ukrainian people. Thus, today both houses of the U.S. Congress adopted the decision on the recognition of the Holodomor as genocide, it is told in the message of the Embassy of Ukraine.
The report notes that the staging of the document are the recognition of the conclusions of the Government of the US Commission on the Famine in Ukraine (22 April 1988) that “Stalin and his entourage committed in 1932-1933 genocide against Ukrainians”.
Like a similar resolution, which was adopted by the Senate on October 3, the document also condemns the systematic violations of human rights, including the right to self-determination and freedom of expression, committed by the Soviet government against the Ukrainian people.
Expressed deepest condolences to the survivors of the Holodomor, and their families, as well as calls for the dissemination of information to raise awareness in the world about the artificial nature of this tragedy.
The resolution of the house of representatives, sponsored by more than three dozen congressmen from the Democratic and Republican parties, was submitted on June 8 the co-chairs of the Congressional Ukrainian Caucus, sander Levin, Marcy Kaptur, Brian Fitzpatrick and Andy Harris”.
As previously reported “FACTS”, as of mid-November, Holodomor 1932-1933 recognized the Genocide of the 15 States members of the United Nations and the Vatican state.
