If you think that the concept of “fools and roads” refers only to the countries of the former Soviet Union, you are deeply mistaken.
So, residents of Manhattan (and in particular cyclists), to put it mildly, perplexed due to the curve of bike paths, markup, which is marked on East 10th Street between 1st Avenue and Avenue A.
Photos of cycle paths appeared on social media and quickly became viral. In the review track is called “psychedelic” and “drunk.”
We can only guess what happened on this street. Is it possible that the worker who made the layout, just hate straight lines? Or was it his attempt to attract the attention of cyclists? Perhaps, before he was pretty drunk at the celebration of some event?
History is silent about it. Meanwhile, Department of transportation, new York city (NYC DOT), said that he had notified the contractor about the condition of the bikeways, and he was soon to rectify the situation.
We will remind, in March of this year, the NYC DOT has introduced a pilot program a Leading Pedestrian Interval signals, or LPIs.
Thanks to it, cyclists will use the characters ‘ priorities for pedestrians and will have an advantage over motorists, and also more time to cross the road. The program will run up to 50 intersections three boroughs: Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens.
