The company Facebook has blocked the page of the English-language Russia Today video project “In the Now”, after the CNN investigation.
This was written by the chief editor of RT Margarita Simonyan in the Telegram.
Simonyan writes that “the project was wildly successful, with 2.5 billion views and 4 million subscribers only in Facebook”.
She thinks the page was blocked after investigation by CNN. The company found that project RT is funded by Russia.
“And asked Facebook, they say, as well as the Russian intervention and this is it? Facebook immediately we were blocked! Without any, what is called the accusations,” says Simonyan.
She argues that the project does not violate Facebook rules.
“If the problem is that in the name of the project was not loudly stated that he is funded by Russia, the radio “Freedom” this is also not specified and nothing broadcasts calmly,” – wrote the chief editor of RT.
CNN believes that through this project the Kremlin is spreading among youth the idea of the left.
Later Simonyan published a video project, where it is stated that Russia is not sponsored by the army of Bashar al-Assad in Syria, and the people who reported explosions, armed conflict, describes the situation from one side.
Meduza wrote that the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said that such actions Facebook threatened loss of confidence in the social network.
In his opinion, the RT needs to obtain explanations about the reasons of blocking and “defend their interests”.
