If there’s a franchise that we don’t expecting anything, it was G. I. Joe. After two movies a little too constipated for fully assumed their function of derivative, stupid but fun, the saga is extinguished of itself. Except that here, it is coming back.

In 2013, this is far, especially when you live in the parallel world that has become our society since. 5 years without asking the fundamental question that should occupy our minds until exhaustion in waiting for a response : “Oh, hey, in fact, it becomes what the franchise G. I. Joe ?”

Snake-Eyes, not happy

After two films, the saga is indeed made very small, so that we will be stung from time to time the rind, by announcing a third installment in mode, reboot and it is interested even a little bit to it. And and then, one fine day in may 2018, is that an ad shock fell : The third film of the saga would not be a reboot but a spin-off dedicated to the character of Snake-Eyes.

A logical choice since it is one of the figurines favorite of the fans, whose history against his twin brother, Storm Shadow has held a good place of G. I. Joe : Conspiration, but which is hidden in a huge problem : Snake-Eyes does not speak and does not take away its mask. Therefore, it greatly limits the dramatic possibilities of the character. It would appear that the Paramount this is a false problem, since, according to the website Variety, the studio would be on the point of find the director of his dreams to make the film.

Snake-Eyes, sad

And, roll the drums, it would be Robert Schwentke, director of the terribly-zero R. I. P. D. Brigade Fantôme. and the last two Divergent… The director would actually be at the very beginning of negotiations with the studio to take the film in hand. Regarding the project itself, we don’t know much more even if a question remains : who will play Snake-Eyes ? In the first two films, it was the legendary Ray Park, and the logic would dictate that he’ll be back. But as the intention is clearly to revive the franchise, one would think that the studio would seek a name more bankable for, in the end, sticking a mask on the face throughout the whole movie and not make him say a single word. Frankly, if you dare to do this guys, hats off.

Sanke Eyes, love
