27-year-old Kimberly Bermudez – school teacher from Chicago, by her own admission, has always been talkative.
Last week a girl was on a flight from Southwest Airlines to Florida to visit his parents. And when a seatmate asked what she does for a living, Kimberly began to tell him about his students-first-graders. They are all from poor families, some even children of homeless parents.
Kimberly added that many teachers chipped in to buy these kids books and other school supplies.
After a moment, she felt as someone touched her shoulder. The man sitting behind her, with a baby in her arms, apologized for the fact that overheard the conversation and handed her several hundred dollar bills. “Do something amazing”, he said to her.
But it was a start. When the plane landed in Jacksonville, the passenger sitting across the aisle, admitted that he too heard the conversation. He added that he has little cash, but gave the teacher $20.
And then turned to the girl and the man sitting in front, handing her another $10.
And then Kimberly started to cry.
According to her, she said she just flew to my parents was not going to beg for money, but one of the benefactors said, “We know. That’s why we gave them to you”.
When Kimberly was riding with my mom in the car, she counted the money. Strangers collected her $530.
The teacher said that it plans to buy for the money books and backpacks for students. Kimberly never know the name of the stranger who gave her five hundred dollar bills. “I have no idea who he is, ‘said the teacher. – I only know that this is an amazing man”.
