States can provide cyber weapons NATO allies.
The US is ready to conduct offensive or defensive cyber operations at the request of the allies in NATO. This was stated by a senior Pentagon official Katy Willberger, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to UKRINFORM.
“The United States will conduct offensive or defensive cyber operations, if they are asked NATO allies,” – said Wilberger.
According to the Deputy assistant Secretary of defense for international security Affairs, such a plan must demonstrate the U.S. commitment to the Alliance.
As the newspaper notes, such a move is indicative of the increasing concern of the US and its allies concerning Russia’s use of cyberspace to influence elections in America and in other countries.
