According to the President of the United States, the discussion of Russia was devoted a significant part of the summit.
The leaders of the countries “the Big seven” at the summit in Canada, a quarter of all time spent on the discussion of Russia, reports the Chronicle.info with reference in Word and Deed.
“You know, we spent approximately 25% of our time discussing Russia. And I said that it would be better if it (Russia – ed.) was here. I’m not for Russia. I for US”, – said the American leader.
According to trump, if his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin attended the meetings of the G7 summit, they could take the opportunity to discuss the situation in Syria and Ukraine.
“Here’s an example: if he (Russian President Vladimir Putin – ed.) was at that meeting, I could ask him to make things better for the world that is best for the country, better for him,” – said the President of the United States.
We will remind, before heading to the G7 summit in Canada, trump said that he would like to see Russia as part of its participants. He was supported by the Prime Minister of Italy, but the majority of the members of the “sevens” were against it.
At the same time, Russia has stated that it is not too interested in returning to G7 and consider other more promising formats of negotiations.
