Inflation in Turkey has reached the highest over the past 15 years mark and amounted to 17.9%.
“In August, consumer prices rose by 17.9% compared to the same month of the previous year. This is the largest increase since late 2003, when in July, inflation was 15,85%”, – stated in the message.
According to the Department of statistics of Turkey, increased the price of transport – 27,13%, food and non-alcoholic beverages – 19,75%.
In turn, the Central Bank of Turkey stated that “ready to adjust monetary policy at the next meeting which will be held on September 13, because the dynamics of inflation in recent months demonstrates significant risks to price stability”.
