Universal Soldier is a series B the most endearing and iconic of the 90s. And also, the time of the remake rang.

It would have to be blind to see in the feature film by Roland Emmerich a great achievement of science fiction. And yet, this production, in which Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren, back from the dead to become super-soldiers is hitting very hard on it, is aging pretty damn well.

Excessive, barns and free necklace, this production remains one of the entries the more sympathetic of the career of the muscle from brussels, which will besides known to amount of suites, of which one (Universal soldier : The day of judgment) was a damn nice surprise.

A “Universal Soldier” without Jean-Claude ?

But after 7 episodes, the saga is coming to the time to recycle completely. Screenwriter Richard Wenk has just unveiled in the columns of Discussing Film he was currently working on a new version.

“I can say that I’m finishing a replay – let’s be clear, this is not a remake or a copy – but really a replay, a movie called Universal Soldier. “

Richard Wenk is the writer of the recent Equalizer, which was already a remake. It seems unlikely that the director Roland Emmerich returns behind the camera.
